Hello. I'm Bernice, a product designer with a particular passion for fostering creative confidence through my work*. I'm currently based in San Francisco as a design manager at Albertsons, working to make online grocery shopping simple and appetizing. Before this, I was a senior designer at Luminary Labs, consulting on projects that spanned the public and private sectors, from accelerating the impact of scientific tools to advancing tech education in rural areas.
I received my MFA from the Products of Design program at the School of Visual Arts. My graduate thesis, In Equality, explored the interconnected systems that allow some people to prosper and others to suffer exploitation; confronting immigration, exoticism, colonization, and race as intersected and inseparable.
These days, I spend my time reading and listening to people smarter than me while snuggling with my brown tabby, José. Drawing helps me process these learnings. Once in a while, I take on some freelance work.
